PRIVACY POLICY

Effective August 2026

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or contact us, what we do with it, and what choices you have. We’ve tried to write it in plain language, because a privacy policy nobody can read isn’t much of a policy.

If you have questions about anything here, you can reach us using the information at the end.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the websites and online services operated by AMO LAW, PC:

It also covers information you give us in person at an event, such as a conference or convention booth, when that information goes into the same systems described below.

This policy is about information we collect through our websites, our marketing, and our intake process. If you become a client, the files and information related to your legal matter are governed by your engagement agreement with us and by our professional obligations as attorneys, including our duty of confidentiality — not by this policy.

This policy does not cover other companies’ websites we link to. When you follow a link away from our site, that company’s privacy practices apply, not ours.

One important note before you go further: please don’t send us confidential or sensitive details about your situation through a website form or an unsecured email. Contacting us through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before we’ve formally agreed to work together may not be protected the way it would be once you’re a client. If you’d like to talk about your specific circumstances, schedule a call and we’ll do it properly. See Website use and legal advice below.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form, book a call, register for a webinar, download a guide, subscribe to our newsletter, or hand us your information at an event, we collect what you choose to give us — typically your name and email address, and sometimes your phone number, your location, and your answers to any questions the form asks.

Payment information. If you become a client and pay us online, we send you a secure payment link. Your card details are handled by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours collects some information about your visit through cookies and similar technologies: your IP address, your browser and device type, which pages you visited, how long you stayed, and what website referred you to us. This happens through the analytics, hosting, and delivery tools listed below.

Why we collect it

We use this information to:

Who we share it with

We use outside companies to run our website, our email, our scheduling, and our practice. These companies receive personal information in order to provide those services to us — that’s how a modern website works, and we’d rather tell you plainly than imply otherwise.

What it does Who provides it
Website hosting Bluehost
Image delivery and site tools WordPress.com / Jetpack
Forms, scheduling, contact management, text messages, and transactional email GoHighLevel
Newsletter and email marketing MailerLite
Connecting our systems to one another Make.com
Webinar registration and hosting WebinarGeek
Book and audiobook delivery BookFunnel
Social media messaging and automated replies Meta (Instagram, Facebook), GoHighLevel
Maps and fonts displayed on our pages Google
Payment processing Authorize.net, LawPay (AffiniPay)

We may also share information when the law requires it, when we need to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or if our practice is ever transferred to another firm.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We don’t trade it, and we don’t pass your contact details to other businesses so they can market to you.

Cookies, tracking, and other companies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them to keep the site working properly and to understand how visitors use it.

Some of the tools listed above are operated by other companies, and those companies may collect information about your activity on our site. Depending on the tool, some of them may be able to collect information about your online activity over time and across other websites you visit. We don’t control what those companies do with that information; their own privacy policies govern it.

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Some parts of our site may not work as well if you do.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal, and some browsers and extensions can send a Global Privacy Control signal, indicating that you don’t want your online activity tracked across websites.

Our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, because no common industry standard for honoring them has been established. We will update this section if that changes.

How long we keep your information

If you contact us, subscribe, or download something but never become a client, we keep your information for up to five years after we last hear from you, and then we remove it. We chose five years deliberately: estate planning is something people think about for a long time before they act, and we’d rather still recognize you when you’re ready than make you start over.

If you become a client, your file is kept according to our professional recordkeeping obligations, which is a separate and longer period.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see below.

Your choices

Email. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can use it any time, and we’ll stop. If you’re a client, we may still need to send you emails about your matter.

Text messages. If you book a call with us and give us your mobile number, we may text you a reminder, because we call you at the scheduled time. You can stop these any time by replying STOP. We do not share your mobile number or your text-message consent with anyone else for their marketing, and we do not sell this information.

Seeing, correcting, or deleting what we have. You don’t have to be a client to ask. Write to us at info@amo-law.com and tell us what you’d like — a copy of what we have about you, a correction, or deletion — and we’ll take care of it. We may need to confirm who you are first, and there are some records we’re required to keep.

California “Shine the Light.” California Civil Code § 1798.83 gives California residents the right to request information about personal information disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We don’t make those disclosures — but if you’d like to ask, write to us at info@amo-law.com.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us, including encrypting information sent through this website. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, though, and we can’t guarantee that information you send us online will never be intercepted.

Children

Our website is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Where we practice

AMO LAW, PC is a California law firm, and this website is intended for people in the United States. We are not set up to handle requests under the European Union’s GDPR or similar laws outside the United States.

Website use and legal advice

Using this website, reading our content, subscribing to our newsletter, or sending us a message does not create an attorney-client relationship. Nothing on this site is legal advice for your particular situation. An attorney-client relationship begins only when we have both signed a written agreement.

For our full terms, please see our Disclaimers page.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we collect or use information, we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so clearly on this page — and if you’re on our email list, we’ll tell you there too. We’d encourage you to check back when you visit.
