Your Life & Legacy Planning Journey
When you schedule your personal Life & Legacy Planning Session with us, we block 2 hours on our calendar dedicated entirely to you and your family. This isn’t just another appointment—it’s the beginning of a journey toward peace of mind.
Before we meet, we’ll send you our Life & Legacy Worksheets—thoughtfully designed to help you not only organize your legal and financial information but also explore your deepest values and most meaningful goals. What matters most to you? Who are the people you want to protect? What legacy do you hope to leave? These worksheets invite you to reflect on these essential questions, allowing us to truly understand the outcomes you want for yourself and your loved ones. During our time together, we’ll use these insights to explore what would happen to your family and assets if something unexpected occurred, and then guide you toward creating the future you actually want.
The path forward often feels easier than most people expect. In fact, clients regularly tell us, “Wow, if we had known how easy this would be, we would have done it years ago!”
Investing in Your Family’s Future
Our Life & Legacy Planning Session is an investment of $750—representing 2 hours of customized legal guidance designed to educate and empower you to make informed decisions about your legal planning.
We offer two pathways to make this accessible for you:
- Complete your Life & Legacy Worksheets before our session and save $250, bringing your investment to just $497
- Prefer guidance through the process? Maintain the full $750 fee and we’ll complete the worksheets together during our session
The best part? Your entire session fee will be applied as a credit toward any legal planning package you choose to create with our office. This isn’t an additional cost—it’s your first step toward comprehensive protection.
Securing Your Life & Legacy Planning Session Appointment
We understand that meaningful change begins with commitment. That’s why we ask for payment of your Life & Legacy Planning Session fee at the time of scheduling. Think of it as planting the first seed in the garden of your family’s future protection.
When you make this investment up front, something powerful happens—you’re more likely to complete your worksheets, attend your session, and take the steps needed to protect what matters most. It’s a small but meaningful way of saying, “My family’s future is worth prioritizing.”
Why have we structured things this way? Because we’re not like other law firms. We dedicate ourselves to providing exceptional service to families seeking a lasting relationship with a trusted advisor. We carefully limit the number of new clients we welcome each week to ensure everyone receives our very best attention and care. Your payment reserves this dedicated time that we’ve set aside specifically for your family’s needs.
Preparing For Your Life & Legacy Planning Session
After scheduling, you’ll receive your Life & Legacy Worksheets along with helpful information to review before we meet. These worksheets do more than gather facts—they create space for you to consider what truly matters in your life and what you hope to achieve through your planning. When you share these reflections with us, we can tailor our guidance to honor your unique values and vision for your family’s future. To make the most of our time together, please return your completed worksheets at least 3 business days before your session.
Do you have existing estate planning documents? Please share them with us at least a week before our meeting so we can review them thoughtfully in advance.
Have questions while preparing? We’re just a phone call away—reach out anytime for assistance with your worksheets or any other concerns.
What Happens During Your Session?
Your Life & Legacy Planning Session serves two important purposes:
- To identify whether there is a good fit between you and our attorney who will become your Personal Family Lawyer®
- To help you understand what would happen under your current plan (or without one), so you can make informed decisions about what you’d prefer instead
This approach allows you to identify specific changes you want to make, giving you the comfort of knowing your family would stay out of court and avoid conflict if something happened to you.
If we find we’re a good fit for each other and you identify specific improvements you’d like to make to your current situation, we can design your personalized plan right away.
Your Design Takes Shape
Once we’ve crafted your plan together, we’ll send you a summary that captures all your important decisions in writing. Have you ever noticed how seeing your choices laid out on paper can bring a different perspective? This summary gives you that chance—to see your decisions with fresh eyes and make sure they truly reflect what’s in your heart.
Sometimes the most meaningful realizations come when you see your wishes in black and white. If anything doesn’t feel quite right, this is your moment to make adjustments before we move forward.
After you’ve confirmed these important details and shared any additional information we might need, we’ll begin drafting your estate planning documents with care and precision. About 4-6 weeks later, we’ll arrange for a notary to come right to your home for the signing meeting—because we believe protecting your family shouldn’t require you to rearrange your life.
But our journey together doesn’t end there. We’ll conduct a special Legacy Interview over Zoom, capturing the stories, values, and wisdom that make your legacy truly meaningful. Then, we’ll schedule your Plan Portfolio Delivery meeting, which you can attend either online or in person at one of our welcoming office locations—whatever feels most comfortable for you.
At this final meeting, we’ll go beyond just handing you documents. Think of your assets like instruments in an orchestra—each one needs to be perfectly tuned and aligned to create beautiful music together. We’ll review each of your assets and provide clear recommendations for aligning them with your plan, ensuring everything works in harmony exactly as you wish. Your home, investments, retirement accounts, insurance policies—all these pieces need to work together seamlessly for your plan to protect what matters most. We’ll guide you through exactly what needs to happen with each asset to ensure your plan works perfectly, just as you’ve envisioned it.
From Signatures to Certainty
Have you ever tried on a new outfit that seemed perfect in the store, only to discover how it really fits after wearing it for a day? Your estate plan can feel similar. That’s why we give you 60 days after signing to thoroughly review everything at your own pace.
We understand that signing legal documents can feel overwhelming. Many of our clients worry they should scrutinize every line before signing, and this hesitation can actually prevent them from moving forward with protection for their loved ones. That’s why our approach is different.
We don’t want you to feel pressured to analyze every paragraph during your signing meeting. Instead, we encourage you to trust the process—knowing that having a thoughtfully designed plan in place is far better than having no plan at all. And, unlike traditional firms where signing day feels like a “one-and-done” transaction, we build in this generous review period specifically to give you peace of mind.
By spending time with your choices, you’ll quickly sense if anything doesn’t feel quite right. During this 60-day review period, we’ll make any minor adjustments at no additional cost—whether it’s changing the order of your fiduciaries or refining specific instructions about your healthcare wishes.
This breathing room allows you to settle into your plan with confidence, knowing you have the freedom to fine-tune the details until they feel just right for you and your family. Why do we do it this way? Because we’ve seen how the traditional approach—where you’re expected to be completely certain at signing with no flexibility afterward—can create uncomfortable gaps in protection that lead to disappointing outcomes later.
Wouldn’t you rather have the space to grow into your decisions with our guidance, instead of facing the pressure of permanent choices made in a single afternoon?
From Planning to Protection: The Maintenance Phase
Once the planning phase wraps up with your Plan Portfolio delivery meeting, we transition to what we call the “maintenance phase” of our relationship—because creating a plan is just the beginning of protecting what matters most.
At no additional charge, we’ll review your plan at least every three years, much like a doctor’s wellness checkup. During these reviews, we’ll ensure your plan still reflects your wishes and responds to any changes in your life circumstances. Have you welcomed new family members? Started a business? Moved to a different state? These life events can significantly impact your plan’s effectiveness.
We’ll also keep you informed about changes in the law and other issues that might affect your family and your wealth. Legal landscapes shift over time, and what works beautifully today might need adjustments tomorrow.
If you choose to join one of our Family Care Membership programs, you’ll enjoy even more comprehensive care—with annual plan reviews (rather than every three years) and a suite of other valuable services designed to give your family ongoing support and guidance.
Remember, we’re always here for you—without charging for calls, emails, or texts. Your questions and concerns are welcome at any time, because we believe peace of mind shouldn’t come with a ticking clock or surprise fees.
Have you ever imagined how it would feel to have complete confidence in your family’s future? That’s exactly what awaits you at the end of this journey—and you might be surprised at how simple and even enjoyable the process can be.
